Why Is Goal Setting An Important Part Of Success?

Do you remember that one glorious night recently when you were champagne happy and full of big ideas? You promised yourself, and you were excited that this would be the year you accomplish your dreams, and you committed to making it happen. Then this episode is for you.

Successful people, albeit in business or sports all set goals. Setting goals is the first step in achieving them, I set goals because I want to be a better version of myself in the future. Goal setting is a way to fuel my ambition. Goal setting is about holding yourself accountable, it isn't just about having a plan either, it about motivating and inspiring us to aim for goals we never think are possible.

One of my goals this year, is to help business owners design his or her life, by building the business of their dreams, and living a life they love!

So, for the past couple of weeks, I’ve been locked away creating a Goal Setting For Success Mastermind Program to do just that! I am so excited to share it with you.

The starting point for goal-setting is to write your goals down. Very few people have SMART goals, and even fewer have written these goals down.

Here are some interesting facts, 83% of people don’t set goals. 14% of people don’t write their goals down. Only 3% of people write down their goals and regularly review progress. They are the most successful people, and it’s a proven fact. They are one 1% ers, they know what they want and work towards it every single day.

The stats above are from a Harvard study. People were asked if they have set clear, written goals for their futures, as well as if they have made specific plans to transform their dreams into reality.

After ten years, the researchers interviewed the same group again and the conclusion of the study was utterly astonishing. The 14 percent who had goals, but did not write them down, earned twice the amount of money of the people with no goals. The 3 percent who had written goals were earning, on average, ten times as much as the other people combined.

It is a fact that individuals who don’t write down their goals have a tendency to fail easier than the ones who have plans. We know it’s not all about the money, but the research proved that writing down your goals is important.
